Students First Vocal Recording

Happy New Year to you all.

One of our vocal students, 13 year old Amelia Haynes with her first finished recording at our studios after only 4 months of lessons. Future star…. Video made by her dad Stuart, who coincidentally aced his grade 1 drum exam back in November.

Student Promo Video

This is Morgan Haynes one of our drummers first promo video for his band The Vitrines. The band is made up of drums and guitar only but you wouldn’t think so from the full sound they have. Morgan has been studying with us for over 5 years. It is great to see our students making their way in this business we call music. Good song and a cool video. Onwards and upwards Morgan.

Guitar Student Makes the Grade

Students coming in with successful grade results is always fantastic to see. Here is Sid Horn one of our young guitarists, after all his hard work on the grade I’d say he looks pretty pleased with himself. Well done Sid and all of our students that have just graded, on to the next one!

Free Technique Sessions at Graham Russell Drums Fareham

Had a great time on Saturday at Graham Russell Drums teaching hand technique. I gave the guys exercises and ideas on how to improve their stick control and speed. These were free sessions for Graham’s customers. I hope they got something useful from it, at the very least they look happy. Looking forward to the next one.

Thanks Graham for letting me lose on your customers.

Carl Palmer vs Students

Here is the video of my students jamming with Carl Palmer. No prep or practice they all just got up one after the other, sat down and threw down as they say. Very proud of them, no pressure playing with a man who has been voted best drummer in the world and sold over 70 million albums in his career so far.

Drummers are Tom Trowbridge, James Carragher, Alexandros Caralambous, Sam West and Shana Edwards.

How do you start a drum jam, in the words of Mr Palmer…”Go on Then”

Carl Palmer Day at Solent University

Some of the photos from the Carl Palmer day Wednesday the 3rd of February at Solent University. The day started with a drum solo from Carl, then a one hour Q&A with all music students. Carl talked about the music business today and gave my students advice on developing their careers and gave them an insight into life on the road and the reality of touring. Then we had an hour master class for the drummers with Carl breaking down exercises ( including the Palmer Diddle ) and giving technique advice to the students. At the end of the day my students had the chance to get up on stage and jam with Carl.

Very proud of the students and a good day was had by all.

What is your skill level?
